Video or no video?
 |
Personally I don't like the idea of Flickr being used for video. I'm here for photography, and the art of the still image is something quite different to the art of video (which of course has its place).
As group admins we have the option to enable or disable video postings within the group. What would you prefer? Please vote. I'll lock the thread one week from now and count up the votes.
If you'd like to vote, please put either VIDEO or NO VIDEO clearly in your reply.
My vote: NO VIDEO
Thanks

NO VIDEO
I'm with you. If people want video they can go to YouTube. Let's keep this a place for photography.

I wasn't going to vote as I haven't really contributed here for over a year, but as there were no other member vote I though I ought ;o)

If people post silly family clips or podcasts, etc.. it's bad for flickr. This is what youtube is all about,..
But I think video is great if you use it in a artistic way!
So shoot it like you do photo's but with a little motion to it...
And the thing that I really like about video.. sound can do a lot to pixels.
So I don't really care, just use it right. :)

Hmmm... not as many votes as I had hoped for. Still, the concensus is NO VIDEO. Let's leave it as it is for now and I'll add a note pointing people to this thread if they feel otherwise.
Thanks!
Ade
P.S. @Kasimir: I agree with you entirely - it depends how it's used. So far I've been pleasantly surprised.
