maybe it's a mistake ? I found one pattern from Lion Brand where it says
"Sc in next se, 2 se in next sc (inc made)" and it's clearly a mistake , where you read se should read sc ....
perhaps you can point to the pattern ?

Aye, me thinks this is a typo too.
sc = single crochet

definitely a typo rosa , it should read 1 chain + 1 sc (instead of se) in the same sl, it's the only thing that makes sense in the 2nd round
