Sounds fun...I could be there at 5:30.
Also too the Wachovia Center looks cool at sunset, almost like its on fire. The westside faces Salisbury St.

@inspireimages: depends on the construction you're talking about. :) Fayetteville Street is open to vehicle traffic, but they are still wrapping up odds and ends. There's also a bit of building construction going on in the area. Still pleasant enough for a walk.
As far as an initial meeting point, Port City Java is right in the middle at Martin/F-ville intersection. No idea if they're open past 5 though.

i say we just let beebo have it regardless.
was at the capitol room last night for dart match [we won! 13-11! woop!] and they [raleigh police dept] have limited the parking on fayetteville street from today until... [ CLINT! you should walk down and see when they unrestrict the parking, its on the white signs taped EVERYwhere...] i think thats to allow the aforementioned construction to finish.
just a thought.

Seems I tweeked my hip at work yesterday, so I'm taking the day off to rest the ole bones. We have a family rule, if your too sick to go to work/school your too sick for after work/school activities, ergo, I probably won't make it tonight (although walking around could be good therepy).

I was downtown last night working for Red Bull at an industry event they held at Ess Lounge. The highlight of the evening was the Air Force dropping two Red Bull Extreme Parachutists at 10pm, who landed in the parking lot of Ess. It was crazy! Also one of the hardest things I've ever shot. The planes were so high we couldn't even hear them. The jumpers had fireworks attached to them somehow - so you could see them in the dark sky. I couldn't actually see the parachutists (only their chutes) until they were like 1 second from touching down because it was so dark. They had to have gone through the parking lot (with light posts) at about 60 miles an hour. It was absolutely crazy. I would have invited other folks if it wasn't a private party - they were only letting people in with invitations. I glanced through the pics and saw lots of blurred pictures, and very dark. Hopefully a couple will turn out. I was shooting continuous focus at ISO 1000, F2.8, 1/60th, and my flash didn't really help me any. :-) If I had it to do again I would have used a wide angle - aiming my 70 - 200mm was like aiming a .22 at a flying sparrow using a scope. Unfortunately my only warning was, "Look up right now!"

@base10 - I was on the late train then hit the gym. I finished all the cookies off though. And the snack mix. And the chips.
It's all about proper post-workout meals.
