Actually the Rodeo is quite fun. I didn't think I would like it either but it is a good excuse to eat really good ice cream!
It looks like their website hasn't been updated yet. But usually 7:30pm Carousel Farms Bull Riding and Barrel Racing.

The rodeo was my first meetup. I haven't been quite the same since I met you crazy flickr folk. I am looking forward to making an appearence.

it is 7:30 Andy... they parked the dump truck near the road with the sign its at the intersection of 401 ( louisburg road) and spring forest road.....
The rodeo was the first time I decided to stop lurking on the forum and come out to meet people too.... Biggest mistake of my life... just kidding... The rodeo is great. I have been going to it for years.

Andy -- the driveway goes back in the woods about 1/2 mile. You'll pass a house on the way and you'll swear you're not in the right spot, then suddenly the woods open up and you see the rodeo facility. Oh, and it's $5/person to get in.

Hey Brenda.... I think... Kids under 12 are free... don't quote me on that though. And no I dont' think we are official photogs but fubuk's pictures are the slide show on their website. They are just very photographer friendly. Its a great place.

also when you go you can go over to the bridge thingy over the pens where they run the bulls out..you can stand right above them ..up close and personal blood snot and cow patties....and if you are lucky..cow bells!

I have heard that the rodeo announcer passed away this Winter. His enthusiasm is really what made the rodeo a complete preference so it will be interesting to see what its like now.

I am on call this week but its close enough to the house if i have to leave i will. I was planning on going to the rodeo before it was a meetup with some friends So i will be there and have to split my time between shooting bullsnot and the hanging out with them... its their first time.

Intersection of Spring Forest and 401/Louisburg Rd . If you are coming across on Spring Forest from US 1, there is a dirt road at about 10 o'clock across 401 that you want to go down or go across to Kyle Dr and take the first left onto a dirt road.
Here is a map but pay no attention to the green arrow. The farm is the large open field in the upper right of the frame. You can see the roads leading in on the satelite view

I ended up going to the Captivated By The Light seminar (good times) but hope there will be another meet up soon. I recently moved to NC from NH and want to meet people, especially those as crazy about photography as I am, and get out and see what NC has to offer!
