ONLY FOR ABSTRACTS!

Abstract art, as defined by many renowned artists and designers, is a type of art that emphasizes on mostly simple lines, forms, colours, textures, geometry, etc. Typically, abstract art cannot be recognized and is often referred to art that is nonrepresentational.

We define abstract as:

- Anything, absolutely anything, that cannot be recognized

- Images that show colours

- Images that show only lines and/or curves

- Images that show texture (but the texture cannot be recognized)

- Images that show geometry (but the image cannot be recognized)

- Images that show either symmetry or asymmetry (but cannot be recognized)

- Your computer-generated art (of things that cannot be recognized)

- Your sketches, paintings, sketches, etc (that cannot be recognized)

- Your abstract photography (as long as it meets the criteria) whether it is heavily photoshopped or not

- Black & white, monochrome, selective coloured photographs


We DO NOT define abstract as:

- Anything that can be recognized

- Nature shots: flowers, leaves, trees, lakes, rivers, rocks, coastlines, sunrises, sunsets, etc.

- People: Portraits, candid shots, screaming people, happy people, angry people, people who’re sleeping, people who’re eating, people who’re dancing, etc

- Body parts of people: shots (macro or not) of skin, lips, eyes, ears, noses, toenails, etc

- Clothing: anything and everything!!

- Writing: single letters of the alphabet (belonging to any language), words (belonging to any language), love letters, graffiti, etc

- Products: Pens, computers, shoes, toilet seats, etc

- Buildings: Skyscrapers, places of worship, office settings, restaurants, homes, libraries, community centers, etc

- Photoshopped images for recognizable objects (living or non-living) where the colours have been altered!

RULES

* For every shot you post, please give an award to at least FOUR of your favourite shots in the pool! Should you decide to give out more, please feel free to do so! =)

* You may only post 5 images to the pool per day!
- PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE YOU SUBMIT IMAGES TO THE POOL, THEY WILL BE REQUIRED TO GO THROUGH AN APPROVAL PROCESS BY AN ADMIN OR MODERATOR OF THE GROUP The waiting time may take a while! Moreover, we would strongly suggest referring to the abstract definition to make sure your image fits the criteria (and does not get denied) that we are looking for here!

* Once the image receives 5 or more awards, you may post it in our ART LEGACY queue to be given an invite to join and/or post at our extension group – Photographic Art Legacy

* Please note that nudes are NOT allowed in this group!!

* Once you are a part of the pool, you may add more of your images provided that they meet the main group requirement. WE WANT TO SEE ABSTRACTS!!
We will let abstracts of practically anything sit in here .. as long as they're abstracts!! IMAGES THAT ARE NOT CONSIDERED ABSTRACT WILL BE DELETED!! whether it has been invited or not!!

* If you're looking for extra awards, reposting is allowed! However, please make sure that you remove your photo to repost ONLY if it has made it to page 5 or beyond!
You are only allowed to repost an image ONCE! If a 2nd repost shows up, it will be deleted!

Please read our definitions of abstract thoroughly. If you disagree and believe that one of your shots absolutely belongs in the pool, please feel free to start a thread and let us know.
We, here, take art (abstract in this case) very seriously, and will definitely attend to any questions you may have

MOST IMPORTANTLY, please give out 4 awards to your favourite shots in the pool.
