In Montréal itself, people are not allowed to paint them, so they remain with their intended colors (mainly red), but a nice viariability exists in the type of hydrants, and of course, their urban context. So, yes, cool in a subtile way, but no real extravaganza we can see elsewhere. Maybe in the cities around in the Greater Montréal area, things are different, I never noticed. This will be a nice occasion to really look at them from now on :)
