We named our boat "Recess" since we are both teachers and enjoy the boat when not working, which is our "recess". Someone asked us if we worked for the courts!

I heard of a sailing dinghy that was called "Bidet" because where else would you spend time with your bottom hanging over moving water!

Hi ya fellow boaters. Our family had a 36ft Trojan (woodhull) we named her the "SomeHowe"...as our last name was Howe, and aquiring her was just an up out of the blue...hubby flys to Washington D.C. and buys her while there...so we were not sure why...but for some reason she came "some...howe"...

Parker-man [deleted] says:
I saw one of those huge race-type deep-V boats (on a trailer) while driving on the highway last summer. This boat was probably 42 or 45 feet long... surface drive props. On the transom was painted the name "Ah-Yoh-Nit."
If you say it out loud a few times, you'll get it. ;-)

I named one of my boats "Viewfinder" because I used the boat to find beautiful views to shoot through my viewfinder. We have some friends who have named their boat "Slipless in Seattle" sort of a spinoff from the movie "Sleepless in Seattle". I like cruising around all the boats in a marina in my dinghy and looking at all of the boat names. Some are very unique and creative. Don
