About Camerapedia

Group for photos of cameras and camera lenses that can be used in online references.

Members are predominantly contributors to www.camerapedia.org, a non-commercial web encyclopedia about cameras. If you add an image to this group it is with the understanding that it may be used or referenced from the camerapedia wiki.

Any pictures posted to this group should use creative commons licensing.


Rules for posting here:

- Only upload images that you have taken.
- Do not grab photographs from other sites and upload them here.
- All images must use Creative Commons Licensing or a "copyleft" type of license.
- You may not add any text or identifying marks over the top of the images.

Enriching the encyclopedia's image resource with foreign images is possible obeying the following rules:

- If you upload images that somebody else made you must have the permission from the copyright owner, and you must mark those images with a hint on the permission by the copyright owner.

- Old ads might be an interesting resource for a camera wiki if they show the technological subject in detail, but they must be at least 40 years old because modern camera technology with electronic shutters and TTL metering began at that time. And for copyright reasons they must be older than 75 years if they have any artistic value. Plain text with a very ordinary photo, at least 40 years old, or 75 years old if any nice arrangement or other graphical finesse signs them as an artwork wth secured rights. Newer ads can't be tolerated in the encyclopedia and its image pool here since they would look like actual ads for modern products of today.

If you don't follow the rules, your images will be removed without notice.
