About California Wildlife
The California Wildlife Group highlights the vast diversity of wildlife found in the State of California. This includes fish, land and marine mammals, birds, insects, arachnids, and anything else that's an animal, except humans! From the Pacific Ocean to its bays; from the streams and rivers to the lakes and deltas; from the deserts and valleys to the foothills and mountains; show us all of California's wild creatures!

GROUP RULES
1. Live animals only. No flora-only photos.
2. California wildlife only. This includes native species. It also includes non-native species if they have established themselves as a part of the ecosystem in one or more regions of the state. The animals do not have to be particular to California, but must be found and photographed here.
3. Please NO photos of taxidermy, hunting, trapping or fishing.
4. Please NO photos of domesticated animals, pets, farm animals, zoo animals, aquarium life or any animals in captivity. PLEASE, NO HANDHELD ANIMALS!
5. Images depicting predation shall not be graphic. Please NO images that might be offensive to children or sensitive viewers. Photos showing predation or other details too graphic for sensitive viewers are subject to removal from the group at the sole discretion of group administrators.
6. Please do not post a series of similar shots. Chose from your best. If you would like to post a series of photos that show an action, a period of development or a group of similar shots, we encourage you to do it in a format like this excellent example from kjdrill .
7. Photos should state what kind of animal(s) is/are depicted and describe where the photo was taken within California. If you don't know FOR SURE what kind of animal it is, just say so (or put a ? behind your description) and the group will help out!
8. "Tag" (provide key words for) each photo so it can be found in a search mode.
9. Photos not conforming to these rules are subject to deletion from the group (not from flickr).
10. Please do not repost images that have been deleted from the group. Doing so may warrant a warning, removal or banishment from the group.
Please be safe and ecologically responsible while photographing!
Have fun!
