I like it too. Just a minor bug report: My user name has a space in it
(Jan Tik). When emailing it the link does not replace the space with %20 so the link breaks after Jan. e.g.
flickralbum.com/index.php?fUserName=Jan Tik&tag=Africa&maxPages=19
Other than that, it looks great. Thanks.

Ok, this is very cool, however it has a small problem, it seems to get private images as well as public ones!.

@rainmountain & jan tik:
the issue with private pics is already soleved as you can see in the previous thread over at the Flickr api group
www.flickr.com/groups_topic.gne?id=44445
it's when you use the same browser to view flickralbum.com and flickr.com (logged in). try a different browser (some where you're not logged in at flickr) and you see only public pictures.

emdot: Yes I made flickralbum. I had worked on a project about 3 years ago in which the client wanted the ever popular flash page turn effect on their website. Since then I have always wanted to use that same effect with dynamic content. Then I came accross flickr and thought it would be a fun combination. Thankyou flickr api :)
I will continue to work on this by fixing bugs and adding new features. I am glad you all like it so far.
Thanks for the feedback.

Awesome stuff ..
If you think of 'improving' it, I hope you do not mean 'to add more features' because it is very nice in all it's simplicity ..
I love the way the page 'feels' .. I am a graduating interaction designer and fwiw I just want to say that the interaction feels very natural .. I really like this ..
Maybe this might be nice if you made it accessable to people who do not know any people or keywords from Flickr ..
Use the CC licence options and let people create albums from several users' images to send over ..

I did a little promo work, I think this is a marvelous tool.
One thing I would like to see is to have just the virtual book(let) appear on a page without the additional fields and text to the right. This would be handy when you just want to present something without allowing the reader to type in new search terms.
But excellent work all the same. Would whoever wrote this please give yourself credit and PUT YOUR NAME somewhere on it?? Thanks!

Very cool, but I've got a minor suggestion:
Clicking in the middle of the closed album cover opens one of the photos in the album. People may think that's all it does, and completely miss the page turning functionality. I'd allow the user to grab the page for turning anywhere (including the entire front cover) that does not actually show a picture.
But all in all, very nice.

I am making a list of all these suggestions and bugs, and will start on them as soon as possible.
Happy Monkey: I can't believe I missed the "clicking on the cover" problem. I will fix.
As for the bigger image suggestion...the reason I went with the small version of the photo is because I didn't want to exclude the 800 x 600 people. On down the road I may make a bigger version.
I really like the idea of displaying the album by itself. I will probably work on that first.
Thanks

one thing for your todo list ;-)
what about catching a get parameter and open the album instantly
flickralbum.com/index.php?user=johndoe
but much sweeter would be this ;-)
flickralbum.com/user/johndoe or flickralbum.com/tag/summer
using (e.g.) apache's rewrite engine (suspect this server, as you already use php)

any chance that it could load the pages in order of picture taken. For exmaple, if I want to show some pics of my wedding, I'd rather it started with me looking sober and handsome rather than drunk and dancing like an idiot as I was at the end of the night! ;-)

Love it, one suggestion:
Allow user to click corner to turn page in addition to click-and-draging pages. Can get kind of tiresome dragging every time.
As well, it actually took my a couple tries to figure out that I had to drag the corner to even open the first page...I thought it had crashed or was stuck loading.

yes, the "drag the corner" is not instantly intuitive...and agree with click idea as well (Jeff Werner's comment above)

Anyway of loading sets instead of the stream ?

I am glad you like it. I am thinking about putting a little hint beside the corner that will appear the first time a user uses the album.
I went with the small pic because of load time and I wanted it to fit in 800 x 600. Might make a bigger version later.
I haven't checked into the loading set. I will see if it si possible.

No there is no group that I know of,
but I am considering adding a feature to FlickrAlbum that allows you to save an album that you create so others can view. It would display a list. And, if there is a demand for it, I will also like to add an option that shows a list of of only the users saved album, but this would require a simple username, password registration so I could tell who was logged in.
