About Cheddar Gorge
The Game
This group was inspired by the game of the same name, played on the Radio 4 show, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. If you haven't heard of it, click the link below for an idea of the rules -

The Flickrised Version
Essentially just like the radio show, except group members take turns to post a picture of a word each, to the group pool, the aim being to construct an unwieldy, never-ending, nonsensical sentence.
This group was originally going to be called Sign Story, whereby the words for the game could only be taken from the various signs that litter our streets. I thought this might prove a little tricky to administer, and somewhat limiting on the vocabulary too. However, I still like the idea of extracting the words that surround us on a daily basis, and weaving them into a whole new meaning and context.
Rules/Etiquette
• Only one photo per day allowed in the group pool
• If you were the last person to post a photo, you must wait for someone else to post before playing your next turn
• Words should be in the English language. If in doubt, consult your local dictionary
• Your word must've be taken outdoors, i.e. not from a slogan on your bedroom poster, or the title of your favourite magazine. Basically, if the word is part of a sign, or stuck on a wall then it's all good. So, signposts, street names, placards, billboards, posters, sandwich boards, graffiti scrawl are all okay... anyway, this group is pretty much a work in progress, so we'll see how this rule business goes as things develop
• Your word must be the focal point of the shot. If there are other words, to prevent any ambiguity, these words should be part of the background. If the word is not readable in the thumbnail it is definitely too small
• No posting text heavy photos you might already have in your photostream and using a note to highlight your word. The story so far should be readable by navigating the pool pages
• Creative framing and cropping is allowed but if it's too contrived the image may get removed
• The photographs must be taken and owned by the member submitting them
• Whilst a nonsensical tone is encouraged, the game shouldn't descend into an incoherent collection of words!
But hey, enough of my yakkin'; whaddaya say? Let's boogie!
