Err. That will suck. If they're allowed to leave out the cocoa butter it will not be chocolate.

Horrible!
I submitted my comment to FDA. I don't recommend simply cutting and pasting the remarks written at dontmesswithyourchocolate.com because when a thousand different people submit the exact same comment the comments don't have as much impact.

Digital Trav - I think you're right!
Maybe if folks do go and post, you can put your comments here, to give folks a sense of what to say.
I like the talking points from dontmesswithourchocolate.com because it distills the issues, but maybe folks can just pick one ... like "I don't like the taste" or "this is not a benefit to the consumer and just confuses the labeling standards."

The main point of my comment was that the proposed change does nothing to benefit consumers and is potentially harmful because the substitute fats are usually much more unhealthy than cocoa butter. I also mentioned the confusion the new standard would create. Those points are all covered at dontmesswithyourchocolate.com but I put them in my own words.
