This is a group dedicated to photographs of the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. Located in the heart of the city, Columbia Heights represents a mix of diverse cultures, and old and new residents. Massive new commercial development rubs shoulders with modest, historic rowhouses. The restored 1920s Tivoli Theater vies for attention with the DCUSA retail complex. The landscape of the neighborhood is ever-changing, and ripe for photographic documentation. The photographs posted to this group should reflect in some way the physical, cultural, and social fabric of Columbia Heights, past, present and future.
