Definitely this photo from a Civil War battle reenactment:

I just love that photo, and can barely believe I took it. And yet it hasn't picked up a single comment, has only 31 views, and hasn't been favorited by anybody at all. That makes me wonder if my own judgment is off or something.

Probably because child photography isn't what people like most and also because it was the very first I uploaded.
The rule of thumb is that the photos I like best rarely get warm welcome. It still amazes me what people like best in my photostream.

I don't know whether i like this or just remember it as being the first photo i printed. I took it the first week of college on my first roll of film so its kinda special to me for that reason.

Hi you guys!

This one is my favorite, not because how good it is, because it’s not ~ I was under the rain, no sunlight but this is the type of photography that makes me smile ~ I am always searching for this magic moment but it’s very rare.

I've always really liked this photo, just because of the amazing color of that sky; it was so beautiful in real life. Hardly manipulated at all.

I think there are two kinds of "underviewed" photos (i won't even go into the strange things that people do and don't "favorite).
The first kind are photos that are popular in person but don't "show well" on the internet. Two examples(the one on the left is one that I don't particularly like but others--including strangers--have always loved):

the other kind is of course the photos that i love but no one else does. i think i have lots of examples of this, mostly in bw:

This happens to be my husband's favorite, it's been his desktop for ages. It doesn't bother me so much that it's not more popular. Our reasons for liking it have to do with knowing who they are and the dialogue going on in their expressions, which says an awful lot about their relationship.

This photo was always one of my favorites, but when I first posted it, no one paid any attention to it. Just a few views, no comments, it was like the forgotten photo...

But then it was posted on flickr blog, and now it's my most viewed. So, it may not totally belong in this thread, but if it wasn't for the blog post, I'm sure it would be one of my least popular.

Posted on January 9, this has been viewed 14 times.

It's one thing to take a good photo; it's equally important to alert Flickrites that it exists. If they aren't breaking down my door, maybe they just don't know that I've opened shop and am waiting for them to drop in.

Posting rules
Ehm… sorry guys I’m a new member of the pool and I am missing something about the posting rules. How many times per year can I post my best of the crop? 1) Once a month; 2) once years; 3) do not post at all, we don’t like your pictures…
Thanks for your help.

although some people have posted over 3 photos to the pool, my impression is that you can replace your most viewed, most fav'd and fave as often as you like--every day if it changes every day. the idea would be, though, that you would take out the photo that you are replacing.
not that i'm an admin, but would people PLEASE tag, note or label their photos to tell us whether they are the most viewed, most fav'd or fave?

Marcox2 - well, actually it is mentioned in "Rules" thread that you can replace your submissions (which means you need to delete 'old' ones first to add new pictures) but not more often than every 2 weeks.
Thanks!
drlynch - I asked many times to add such notes, it's also in group's description and I'll be deleting photos from the pool if they miss a note, tag or whatever to let us know if they're most viewed or otherwise.

I simply love this slightly surreal wedding photo on so many levels--the mood, the color, the motion, the expressions:

Like I wrote in the description, "I was at a wedding in Oxford. I knew hardly anyone and certainly none of the people pictured. It was hot. We were waiting. People were fanning. I just love the expressions in this photo. Each person is in his or her own world, and all of them are interesting."
I have yet to post this in any of the critique groups, but perhaps I should. Any thoughts on getting it the respect it deserves? :-)

Another nice thread CB.
My most overlooked is a photo I took in Peru. It was a rainy afternoon so I was looking down at the trail to make sure I didn't slip on the rocky terrian. To my surprise, I looked down to see what looked to me to be a tiny face in the stone smiling back at me. We happened to show it to a number of the local guides that were thrilled with our tiny discovery.

The picture is not all that great, but I'm always very glad that I took it

I'm a huge fan of shots that capture the natural. In other words, I really don't like posed shots. When I take a candid shot that captures something of the essence of the person I'm shooting, I feel it's a great shot. This shot of my son captures that (in my opinion). Completely oblivious to my shooting, he happily plays with a Homer magnet. I've always been proud of this shot. Alas, only one view suggests it isn't as good as I believe.

I think I'd say this one. It's one of my favorites because this little waterfall is now at the bottom of a huge lake, made by a dam in North East Iceland. It's maybe not the best photo I've ever done, but the waterfall is gone and noone can take a picture of it ever again.
