Curator: Definition
"The person responsible for looking after a museum’s collection, and for deciding how it should be displayed. Curators are also responsible for arranging exhibitions."

**THAT WILL BE MY ROLE IN THIS SHIP OF FOOLS**

*THE PROCESS*

a) I will...
invite a pool of people at my own discretion. People who love photography, people who are observant and can appreciate art that is both provocative and challenging, so as to create a dynamic group based on discussion.

b) I will...
Choose 1 person's work to showcase, or a group of people around a specific topic. The idea is to have the relevant images on display for approximately 2 weeks.

c) I will...
Write up a little crit of the work and choose between 10 and 20 photos from the photostream(s) that reflect my insights into an artistic approach, a methology, a distinctive style etc. The idea is NOT to summarize a person's work into a banal "top ten", but rather focus on one aspect, much like a curator must choose through large archives and pick out a specific topic for an exhibit.

That person (those persons) can then post to the group pool the images that I, as curator, have chosen, and hopefully interact with the members of the group through postings in threads.

*WHAT IS THE POINT?*

I'm interested in highlighting aspects of someone's work. The aspects I will highlight will not necessarily be the most obvious. Please see me as a ringmaster stoking the flames.

I am therefore interested in the different dimensions that exist in each person's personalities, expressed through the photos they create.

I am seeking a certain degree of polemic, on a level that hopefully manages to evoke a healthy discussion.

We will probably not always agree. That is fine because I want to learn. It's about the discussion...
