Yahoo deactivates accounts without warning [update]

MegsPhotos.com says:

I've heard a lot of complaints about using a Yahoo! ID to log in to Flickr. I have not, however, heard of a specific case like mine. The main reason that I am against the soon-to-be-required move to using Yahoo! IDs is that it is like putting too many eggs into one basket. If my Yahoo! account is deactivated because of inappropriate activity through Yahoo! Mail, then my unrelated Flickr photos would also be deactivated.

Yahoo! deactivation
I am posting here to see if I can get some specific answers about Yahoo and Flickr account cancellations. My Yahoo! account that I've been using since 1998 was mysteriously deactivated on Thursday. (It's been six days and still have not been given a reason for the account being cancelled.) While I did not yet have it associated with my Flickr account, I can only imagine how angry I'd be if I lost all of my Flickr photos! I am very unhappy with Yahoo!'s customer service and have outlined my complaints on my blog (including a BBB submission). If you are a Yahoo!/Flickr employee, please help me find out what happened. So that everyone is on the "same page", please post your responses on my blog; or here if it's that much more more convenient.

UPDATE Nov1 evening: I've made some progress. You can follow this discussion in the related Flickr Central post from today.

I had my Flikr account disappeared the other day. Nothing happened to my Yahoo account. There were a few hundred photos, some of which had over 20,000 views. It was not a Pro account, but still - I had been around for a couple of years. Anybody else get dropped like this? Also: If you know the announcer for Comedy Central, could you please kill him? He is a rabid animal. Thanks!

Yahoo! did recativate an account of mine they randomly closed recently- though failed to let me know I was reactivated (I discovered it myself when I looked at a group there, I seemed to have all my controls back). They did, suprisingly, givce me a reason for deactivation- violatation of geocities ToS for having a webpage just consisting of external links.

I've never created a geocities site.
