About Flick On

Who am I?

I'm Terry Bain. I run this group. I have blogs and books and stuff.

You Are a Dog / the book / the blog // We Are the Cat / the blog

And I have this group, in part, as a response to the "Flick Off" group, I\'m starting this one (there may be another, but I don\'t really care... there\'s often overlap on flickr, and that\'s part of why I like it... overlap, mix, burn, become a member of MY community, etc.)

I\'m sticking with flickr, despite it becoming more Y! than we may have at first anticipated. It\'s a Yahoo! company. For now, though, it\'s still very flickr, and it still rocks hard over anything anywhere else, and so long as it continues to do so, I\'ll be here.

Serious policy changes may change my mind, but for now I choose to Flick On, and I hope you will too.

What kinds of photos should you post? Post photos that represent the positive... the glass half full... stuff that doesn\'t make the front page of the newspaper because it doesn\'t bleed... not just bunnies and sunflowers... childbirth... construction... people working... progress... if you can tag it with positive words, then it fits here.

The group is currently invitation only, because I\'m a control freak. If you\'d like to become an admin and invite your contacts, let me know. And just because you are a member of Flick On does not mean you can\'t be a member of Flick Off. Contradiction is part of what makes life interesting (for me, anyway). I can hold two contradictory thoughts in my head at the same time. Can\'t you?
