Feature. Well, a simplification, really. They're always "medium" now.
Update: Strike that. They're always LARGE now.

Oh dear... I REALLY loved having the different sizes as an option. To me, so much is lost in the smaller format. Pretty please consider bringing it back.

I'm trying to upload a mosaic but all I'm getting is this message across the top of the screen:
For some reason, the photo could not be uploaded. Try again?
Any ideas anyone?

Ok,I've figured it out. I had it set to private so I could sort it out when I uploaded, but it wouldn't load because I had the "private" button highlighted. Is this a feature that's going to stick, same as not being able to see "private" shots in mosaics?

Hi. I just created a mosaic from my private photos and uploaded it to Flickr with the private option selected. Nothing has changed that would prevent that. It could have been a temporary glitch---this is the internet after all. You just have to have authorized bighugelabs.com to access your Flickr account. If you can upload any photos at all through the bighugelabs.com site then you have already done that.

How do you get your contact icons made into a mosaic ?

Go to flickr.com/fun/buddies.gne , resize your browser window until it looks right, and then do a screen print.

as a preface, i LOVE flickr toys. :) they are a great service, and i really appreciate getting them for free. :)
i gotta say, i REALLY miss the size option. i make a lot of user icons, and i like using mosaic maker for previews. however, since those icons are less than 200x200, large tiles look like garbage (pixel city, baby!).
it seems a shame to remove options that people like and use to "simplify." :(
any chance of getting a small option back?

And here is one other problem with Mosaic Maker: If you were to choose the Tags option and then enter your username and then type in one of the tags you have for your photos, when you click on the button to create the mosaic, the mosaic will not have anything but a blank white space.

related question -- i tried to make a mosiac of my current page of favorites this morning, but the Mosaic Maker is not picking up the last three faves -- despite them all being available for public viewing & having no restrictions on them.
glitch?
thanks...

aha, now it's working (2 hours later) -- any idea why sometimes faves don't show up properly, though? it's happened before, where photos that are marked as public still don't turn up on the mosaic...

I'm testing a new request caching mechanism that might be at fault there.
Long boring answer: Basically, Bighugelabs is asking Flickr for your favorites and then saving the response for around 90 minutes. If you ask for your favorites again in that time frame, Bighugelabs just shows you the response it got before rather than asking Flickr again. It's doing that to make Bighugelabs more responsive overall and to reduce the number of requests to Flickr's servers. So, if you made a fav mosaic, added new faves, and then made another fav mosaic within 90 minutes you might see this issue.

interesting -- I'd asked for my favorites the day before, in the late afternoon -- had then added three more faves (to make a full 36), woke up the next morning & tried to make the new mosaic, but it was still stuck on the previous version. so it probably was the caching thing, but it was a time gap of more like 18 hours, not 90 minutes.

Thanks to @Leo Reynolds for answering my question about mosaic sizes in a topic I started because I missed this topic.
OK, only large mosaics now. But the medium size of the finished large mosaics are too big to post in discussions and the small size of the finished large mosaics are too small.
Please, I want the small and medium size back in the Mosaic Maker

I just discovered mosaic and it's wonderful, I've been looking for a way to do this for awhile. That said, the size option would be good for me also - when I put my mosaic into my blog post part of it is getting cut off. Phooey! And thank you for a wonderful feature.

I'd upload your mosaic to Flickr first. Flickr will create several different sizes of it that you can choose for your blog. If none of those work, you can also use the editor in Flickr to resize it.
