Hello- no this is not about Sandra Lee. I have been plagued by the dissimilarity of store bought ranch dressing and the ranch dressing available at pizza and wing places. I LOVE ranch dressing from restaurants and have been trying to find a close facsimile for years. If anyone knows of a recipe or a source for buying said dressing- I would be very happy. Thanks to all.

Have you asked the restaurant what brand they use? They probably don't make it themselves either...Or if it is a big chain like (dare I say) Pizza Hut, they might have their own production - contact the company...maybe they will send you a case if you give enough praise.
We were having a steak at a place and the horseradish was so delicious I asked if it was fresh and the waiter said no. So I asked what brand it was and he went to the kitchen, looked and came back and told me. He even gave me a fresh blob in a little container to take home.
Call a restaurant supplier.

try the foody.com....or google, here in the UK we can buy a nice raunch dressing from Paul Newman in the supermarkets......and all profits go to charity....which is very nice of him!

Btw....most restaurant suppliers here require a weekly minimun spend of around 2-300 pounds(4-600 USD)....which is a lot of salad dressing.....but you could try your luck....ask a restaurant if you could buy from them....say add 20% to the cost price to make it worth thier while...it will still be cheap!
