Crop with a grid?

I would like to be able to crop with a grid overlaying my crop area. Can you somehow fit say the diagram of the golden section, its diagonals or squares, onto the grid area as it is resized?

Hi runzenbrew

I use a software program called PhiMatrix, which does exactly what I think you are asking for. It can be got for about $20 US from http:www.phimatrix.com, which is a fairly annoying website but has a lot of basic info about Phi. I use the software all the time, and it is quite sophisticated.

Hope this helps

With CS2 choose
Rectangle Tool
Rectangle Options
Select Proportional W: 1.618 H: 1

Set the fill options, border.. to you liking. When you draw the rectangle it maintains the GR. Just remember if you need to resize, use the corners.

Now you can drag it around to suit your needs. When you use the crop tool you don't have to guess the proportions.

I am sure you could add other rectangles inside that one to obtain a grid.

Hope this helps.
