I fixed my glasses with duct tape and magnets, one of the truly great accomplishments of my life :-) I then proceeded to learn, from the Internets, how to fit and order my own glasses, thus saving at least $250 from the clutches of evil makers of glasses-to-break, like Oliver Peoples.

The most satisfying part of it was finding out that the "special quality" of a major brand and "special skills" of the people at the glasses store are illusions. it was very empowering.
