Hi,

A photo itself can be iki, and it is also an effective way of capturing iki. It could capture a spontaneous occurrence of iki.

A depictive painting, on the other hand, has a calculation, even when it captures a frozen piece of time. I think that a too much calculation contradicts iki.

Now, a framed photo itself could be iki if it's placed in an appropriate environment, but not necessarily. You could create a messy scene with nice, iki photos, right?
But then, it may be possible to create an iki scene with a non-iki photo as a part of the scene.
