Why am I doing this?
Because I want you guys to think seriously about iki, and I would like to see really nice photos.
Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples are not necessarily iki. You may think these as typical images of Japan, but that doesn't mean that they are iki. Do avoid them! Iki is NOT WABI/SABI!
Iki requires a presence of inconspicuous intention. Therefore, a simple landscape cannot carry any iki. Iki could appear in architecture, but traditional ones tend to be wabi/sabi rather than iki.
You should pick more "cool portraits/objects." These are easily recognized as iki. Again, they don't have to be Japanese. They are most likely clean, simple, and somewhat innovative, but should not be weird or out-of-place.
Repeated postings of similar images tend to be rejected. Photos with too many random group associations are also considered inappropriate.
