I once spent six months wandering around the Indian subcontinent, including Nepal and Sri Lanka, and India has an amazing number of fascinating places. But my personal favorites were Calcutta, all of Rajasthan, Goa, lovely and green Kerala, and those amazing Hindu temples in Tamil Nadu.

Where are your favorites places in India?

Most people visit touristy spots, but I think there is a lot of beautiful places in the interiors. While the "IT industry" has spoiled a lot of natural beauty, there are still some pristine ones:

1. Coorg
2. Mangalore suburbs (visit in the rainy season)

India is a wonderful country, expecially for photographers. I love Himachal Pradesh, especially Dharamsala and Rewalsar near Mandi. Ladakh is also incredibly wonderful. Really old Buddhist monasteries with magnificent murals like in Alchi and Likir.

By a MILE it has to be Mumbai..the maximum city. I live in England and am doing everyhting I can to leave England and to settle in Mumbai.

However, I really REALLY REALLY hated both delhi and Agra!!
