What qualifies as information overload or anxiety?

that's a great question...
I'd say it's any situation where you're interacting with something that transmits information and a result of trying to use said thing, feelings of anxiety arise. These feelings could include dread, sadness, feelings of inadequacy, overwhelm, etc...

The first example that comes to mind fitting that definition:
I remember trying to use a phone book at a hotel I stayed at a while ago. Internet access wasn't available, I couldn't enter my search terms, I had to flip manually through a book containing a giant table of names -> numbers. I was definately intimidated as a result of the interface to the data.

My anxiety level is inversely proportional to the amount of information I have available. Does that mean I can't join the group?
