Hello hello!

Has anyone ever purchased yarn from Elann? ( www.elann.com )
I'm considering getting some cotton yarn from them because its really cheap but I wonder about the quality.

Thanks!

Elann sells both close-outs of name brand yarns as well as yarns spun especially for them. I've ordered some of each from them in the past and in addition to their prices, quality and service has always been excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

Me too! I'd say about 80% of my yarn purchases from the past year or 2 have been from elann. They are wonderful! I also like that they keep track of what you buy - so when you spend $500, you get $50 off your next purchase! $500 sounded like a lot when I first ordered from them, but I'm pretty close to cashing in on my $50 off :)

Elann is one of my very favorite places to yarn shop. Service is always great and their products are beautiful. I've never been unhappy with an order, and I've been using them for five years.

I've ordered from them too. They are very easy to deal with, extremely fast and have great bargains. They will also wind hanks into balls for you for about $1 each. The balls are then carefully wrapped in tissue paper or for large quantities which I ordered this winter (25 balls), they come in sealed plastic bags. I'm on their mailing list and get previews of all the new goodies they carry. Definitely try them.

I had no idea they will wind into hanks. That's nifty if you are starting right away.

I have ordered from them also. The yarn is lovely and I received my order very quickly. Maybe it is because I am on the West Coast, but it took a week less shipping time than Knitpicks.

I'm an Elann fan too! She even emailed once that a color I picked wouldn't go well with another and saved me some time. VERY good service.

Fiberartcafe: Wow! That *is* excellent service! (Assuming, of course, they have the same taste in colours as you. ;) )

I order from Elann.com all the time! The yarn is 100% quality, the prices are great, the shiiping is super-fast & the customer service is top-notch! I have called the customer service department with a pattern , needle size, gauge & yardage requirement & they have steered me in the right direction every time!

I have also had to call to see if they had MORE of a colorway in stock (even though the yarn was discontinued) and have always had help!

Hope my 2 cents help in your decision!

I've been happy with their yarns & service. Also, they have a free pattern on their site for a double thick warm winter hat knit in sock yarn. I guess they didn't think people were using it or something but they removed it. I emailed them to ask about & got a very pleasant reply with the pattern attached in a very short while & it reappeared in their free patterns & has remained there.

ah, yah, that's too, noricum...agree with you...
i have the same taste as elann.com...so, i don't have any problem with their choose...i hate it when i see elann preview email...because they are all beautiful...i'm confused which one is to buy first (^.^)...

i love this store...i live in asia, the problem is just the shipping...took 2-3 months to arrive in my mailbox (my town is a very remote area town)...but that's ok...i think canadian and american are more lucky (^.^)...
