Geo-tagging images

John Gass says:

Hi,

I'm a new member, so apologies if this has been discussed before.

There are many great photographs here but, given that the raison d'être of the group is alternative London, I'm surprised that almost no one seems to geo-tag their images. I try to do this with mine, where appropriate, but find it frustrating to see a stunning picture here but not have a clear idea of where it was taken. In Flickr, it's as simple as dropping the image onto a Google-style map, and takes only seconds.

Do people not wish to disclose this information or is it just a case of not being in the habit of doing it?

Cheers,

John

I try to geotag whenever possible, partly for other people, but also because I find it easier to organise shots that way for myself. But those people I know who don't do it tell me it's not about being protective, it's just that they can't be asked.

I do think that Flickr Group/Set etc maps are not as good as they were, (except for the personal Organize map which is the same as it was) and this may not be much of an encouragement.
