Yes.. swimming will be a most agreeable option. ;)
we have been in april and may and both times, swimming was fine.
Clothing wise. beach stuff. shorts etc. take 1 pair of jeans and a jumper/jacket as the nights can be a bit chilly as its a fairly small island.
If you get chance, hire a car and drive round. The mountains are spectacular and its great to get away from the tourist trail.

June will be great, not so many people on the beaches, not too hot... along with September, the best month.
And, in my opinion, you are staying in the most beautiful area of the island, there are a lot of pretty beaches ^^
