Expansion Ideas

I have a lot of ideas for expansion.

First of all, Los Angeles connector between 7th/Metro and Union Station. Either underground or street car. If street car, it comes at-grade north of 7th/Metro. Makes a right onto 2nd Street. North onto some street that will make a good connections with the current expansion of the Gold Line.

1. San Pedro to Santa Clarita Line - using the tracks that Metrolink/Cargo trains uses from Santa Clarita - Magic Mountain area to Downtown Los Angeles Union Station where the Gold Line sits. Then continue through Downtown Los Angels and connect with the current Blue Line. Then from Flower and Washington, head further south along with the Exposition Line until it is in the center of 110 Freeway. Using the current 110 Freeway busway, go south all the way down to San Pedro.

2. Exposition expansion to Santa Monica. Too Easy. Using current unused tracks that exists today into downtown Santa Monica, then loop in the downtown area for a turn around.

3. Gold Line already in planning from Sierra Madre Villa to Ontario.

4. Pomona Line - using the existing busway to El Monte. Then take the center of the 10 Freeway again all the way to connect with the Gold Line extension. Then to Ontario.

So much more. I like to hear other ideas.

Hey labanex,

Unfortunately, this group typically doesn't get much discussion... the blog however does usually get people talking. Consider registering and putting your thoughts into an article to be posted on the blog, it's free for anyone who wishes to! You may want to check out the Posting Guide if you want more help.

Thanks for participating... your ideas sound great.
