Tomorrow's the beginning of Week 1 - What's in your kit?
Some things you might consider within the topic:
How do you carry your kit?
What does your kit always contain?
Which extras do you add for special trips / occasions?
What should your kit contain that it doesn't?
What are the things in your kit used for, and why are they important?
How many different kits do you have?
I'm looking forward to seeing pics of this topic! remember, if you decide to participate, use the tag weeklyfocus.
Thanks to Dorn for this week's topic.

Great idea. I just posted one for today. So tomorrow I'll focus on what's in my kit. In a different way to my previous kit picture.
This will help lots after I've taken 50 pictures and I'm wondering what else is left to capture.

What are easy foods?
What are complicated foods?
What won't you eat at all?
How does diabetes effect your relationship with food?
I'm looking forward to seeing how we all experience food!

Sunday starts a new weekly focus... Numbers!
What are your good numbers? Your bad numbers? Your favorite numbers?
Do you hate that you live in apartment 301? Does highway 81 make you happy?
Show us the numbers in your life that reflect, or remind you of, diabetes.

Yeah I second Amylia's suggestion. Good for parents of kids with diabetes, people who work in schools/colleges and *ahem* yours truly. Coincidentally it will be my examination week, so I don't know how I'm gonna be able to capture many pictures of diabetes in school...but i'll try. ;)

Tomorrow begins week 4 of our weekly focuses, with the topic of Diabetes at work and school.
How does diabetes affect your work?
How present is diabetes in your work or school day?
How to your coworkers / other students respond to your diabetes?
What diabetes supplies do you keep at work or school?
Thanks to Amylia for this week's topic.

Wow! Week 6 already!
This week's topic is Diabetes and our Bodies.
So lets see it! What has this crazy disease done to your body? Your fingers? Your abdomen? Your arms? Your feet? Your eyes?
I don't remember who this topic was courtesy of, as there are many now... but thanks to whoever contributed it! And if you have an idea for a weekly focus, please post it here and I will add it to our growing list. We need a lot of them! At least 52 :)

Does it make sense to have a week devoted to injecting? Just the act of injecting itself. I'm saying this because of the general fear that folks have of injecting insulin, especially those with Type 2 diabetes.
If not injecting, maybe a week devoted to our medicines: insulin, symlin, type 2 meds, etc.

Bernard, I've gone with both since some of us don't inject anything. That will be an interesting week! Less gory than Blood week, perhaps, but I'm sure equally uncomfortable to look at!

Bernard, I think that's a great topic. What about putting it under insulin & medication? That sounds good, because Symlin and Byetta are injected medications but aren't insulin. And I don't know if anyone here uses those!

This week's weekly topic is Maintenance! Again, I've forgotten who suggested it.
What does it take just to keep you healthy?
What must you do every day just to keep on going?
What maintenance do you need that normal people do not?
This week is about the daily grind of diabetes.... let's see it!

This next week's focus seems like a particularly good one for this season: The Cost Of Diabetes.
What does diabetes cost you, and how?
What must you buy while everyone else is spending extra money on presents?
What is the emotional cost of diabetes, and how does it manifest this time of year?
What physical costs does diabetes come with?
Hope you are all well and happy this week :)

This week's focus is originally from jyyne_2000, and she suggested that as a good topic for the new year.

This week's suggested focus is from jyyne_2000. It's all about Diabetes and change (or the past)

This week, week 15, the focus is Feet.
With diabetes we kind of have a love hate relationship with our feet. We're constantly warned to take care of them. Never walk barefeet. And other dire warnings.
What do our feet look like? What kind of shoes do you wear? Do you like your feet? How do you use them?
Can you get seven days worth of photos out of your feet?

We're up to Week 16 and the focus is Diabetes Complications.
We get diabetes and almost immediately we're told about the complications and warned about the dire consequences of not controlling our diabetes. Of course, no one mentions that control is one difficult job.
So what do you think of complications? Do you have any? Is there one tat really scares you? Are there things you do to avoid them?

Welcome to the start of another Diabetes365 week. This is week 17 and the focus is Diabetes and Relationships.

Sorry I'm late on this, I completely spaced.
We're into week 17 and the focus topic is Medications: Injections and Pills.
What are the various things you use to control your diabetes? Do you take cinnamon? Or maybe you've used other things to wrestle the diabetes beast to the floor.
I can think of insulin, symlin, byetta, glucagon (yuk) and a variety of type 2 meds that I don't know the name of.
We're also close to the end of our weekly topics. If you've any ideas for future weeks please post them here.

Here are some ideas for new topics:
BLESSINGS (stemming from our diabetes or some aspect thereof)
DIABETES HINTS (little clues, like a Where's Waldo of sorts where you spot the clues to our diabetes life like a detective)
DIABETES AND FRUSTRATION (or Diabetes Frustrations)
DIABETES SUPPORT
DIABETES AND DREAMS

It's week 19 so the tag you should use is weeklyfocus19 if your pictures are about Creativity.
Has diabetes made you more creative?
Have you found creative solutions for diabetes challenges? (This is for the MacGyver fans.)
Has diabetes stifled your creativity?
Thanks Amylia for the extra suggestions for topics. If anyone else wants to suggest more please chime in.

What about DIAGNOSIS STORIES?
Was your diagnosis sudden? Traumatic? Unusual somehow? How did you react initially and what was it like? How did you react to it once the shock had worn off? Or did you know your diagnosis was coming becuase of a family history or warning from a doctor?
Also, what about HIDDEN ASPECTS OF DIABETES. What are some thigns you do every day that people without diabetes have no idea about?

We're into Week 20. This week's topic is Diabetes and a Cure.
What would a cure mean for you or your loved one with diabetes?
What will a cure look like?
How much of your life would change because of a cure?
What would you miss if you were cured?
I know I can depend on all of you for another week of excellent photos.
Please remember to tag your photos with Diabetes365. You can also tag them with words that have meaning for that photo.

Sorry for not updating over the weekend. This week's focus is on other health issues alongside diabetes.
Folks with Type 1 diabetes have issues with other auto-immune diseases. Celiac; thyroid disease; and others. So let's see what you come up with.
It is positively amazing to me that last week's topic was diabetes and a cure and today (March 13th) they announced the start of trials for a type 1 diabetes cure. Words completely fail me.

It's week 30, so the tag is weeklyfocus30. Do please remember to tag your photos with diabetes365 also.
You may have to get creative with this week's topic. It's diagnosis stories.
What do you remember about when you were first diagnosed? What was your first blood sugar? Did you end up in hospital for a while? How did it feel? Did you already know about diabetes because of someone else?
Keep snapping those creative pictures.

This week's topic is Hidden aspects of diabetes. It's week 31, so tag your photos with weeklyfocus31 and diabetes365.
You might want to show how you conceal your pump, or how you test without being obvious. Maybe you'd like to picture something that diabetes has done to you that's not obvious. There's lots of ways to cover this topic.
I thought we were going to hit picture 5,000 last week. With 4,966 pictures, it's definitely going to happen this week.
Have fun, and surprise us with what you capture..

This week's topic is one that I've talked with many other folks about Diabetes and the environment. Yes we've a chronic disease that needs a lot of care and attention...but does it have to generate so much waste?
Get those cameras out and focus on diabetes and the environment. Are you concerned about the packaging? The pieces that don't get used, like infusion set covers? Other things that could be made recyclable? The sharps.
Tag your photos with diabetes365. If they're about the environment then please also add the weeklyfocus32 tag..
On a different topic, we passed the 5,000 photo mark this week. That's amazing because the first photo was posted less than 8 months ago.
Keep up the great work. Every time I look at the photos I'm amazed at the quality and thought behind each one.

Admit it now, because you know you've done it. This week's topic is diabetes and snacking.
Many of us we don't need to snack any more thanks to insulin pumps. But you may still have regular snacks. Or maybe bedtime snacks to stop middle of the night lows.
Maybe you just want to tell us what type of snacks you take and how you cover these. Or even give us some recipes (with yummy pictures) for some diabetes-friendly snacks.
