I was hoping to make this, since I'm now on summer vacation, but I have a meeting on Friday at lunch, so I'll catch the July one.
In the future, some kind of explanation, besides just a time and place, might be helpful. I'm assuming Jamie's studio doesn't have a menu, and I think I'm assuming that we're not talking about a potluck. I understand that Flickr Friday doesn't necessarily mean lunch, but lunch has always been part of it, so it's weird to be told that we're meeting at a studio and THAT's ALL. Geez.

I am assuming that it will go past lunch...I have blocked the whole day off at the studio so We can hang till probably 5 or so.
The Name of the studio is
Ohana West Studios
1007 Dillingham blvd Suite 217
honolulu hi 96817

Parking may be limited because I can't have everyone take up all the guest parking. Parking for the studio is UP THE RAMP on the ewa side of the building and along the ewa wall of the roof parking lot. If the ewa wall is full please park along Kokea street next to the Community college. (across Dillingham) if you park on Kokea st on the studio side of the street it is metered and they will ticket. Community college side is not metered.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE STALLS IN THE CENTER OF THE LOT....THOSE ARE RESERVED TENANT STALLS!!!!
Entrance to the studio hall way is the door halfway up the ramp.
Hope that isn't too much stuff

Oh, wait a minute. This is for next Friday. I'm back in. I thought it was for today.
So please. Somebody. Can I get some information? I appreciate the parking info, which I was about to complain about the lack of, but what is the deal with lunch? I thought it wasn't a potluck because I didn't see any mention of who was bringing what (as at our Kakaako potluck some months ago), but Lucy's post makes me think that it IS a potluck. I'm TOTALLY TOTALLY TOTALLY fine with everyone just showing up with whatever, but I don't want to show up with a brown bag lunch if this is a potluck, and I don't want to show up with a pot of rice if it's a brown-bagger.
Am I being unreasonably impatient about wanting to know this stuff?

@scrivener: No, you're not...we're missing about 60-70 replies worth of info when the old thread went poof. If I'm not mistaken it was meant from the start to be a potluck...someone else correct me if I'm wrong.

I've seen threads just up and disappear on other groups before. It's some random Flickr bug.
Anyway.. I don't suppose y'all want me to show up with 20+ juice boxes (that's really the only thing besides rice that I have in quantity) so I'll have to come up with something. Maybe soda.
I'll have the baby so I'm going to try to show up early enough to get parking, cuz lugging a baby + food/drink while wearing red high heels and a dress is not on my fun list.

I have a suggestion...
What if we don't do potluck and just bring our own food?
it's harder to bring bulky food, and shop for them while we are at work or let alone, store the food at work... lots of coordinating. plus with parking limited, yeah, you don't want to walk with all this stuff
because it's almost the 13th, missing links..., it's harder to organize who's bringing this, that, how much to bring...
the studio is not geared, really, for potlucks and hold all the food and won't stink up the studio.
less time to deal with the potluck but more time to eat and socializing and playing/shooting with James studio (good time take advantage of the studio for fun shoots with each other...)
what do you guys think?

Bringing your own lunch is a good idea- perhaps a mod could add that to the title.
I'll model or shoot, I'm flexible. I have no cool costume like Lisa's but love the idea of playing dress up.

D'oh! I was really excited about this first-ever studio-hosted Flickr Friday. But those who follow me on Twitter know I'm thrilled to have my boss and friend (who's usually based in South Carolina) in town this week... and she's just scheduled the big office lunch for tomorrow. Count me out too- aside from not hearing ANYTHING from the movers (and they promised delivery early June!!), I have the world's biggest zit. As one of my friends said, "You don't want to test their Photoshop skills," LOL. On top of that I have a kid appt in town in the afternoon, and if you think drunken Flickrers in a studio is bad, you don't want to see my 3yo hanging from your backdrop supports ;-)
I am so jealous of all of you that are going, and I really hope it's a (non-smashing) success so it happens again!

Indeed, mucho mahaloz to James for opening up his studio and letting us play! Was great fun getting to shoot with a PW for the first time and REAL lights!

Yes, thanks again James for use of the studio and equipment! I had a great time meeting everyone yesterday. I hope I can make the next Hawai'i Flickr Friday meetup. I believe someone said it's the first friday of the month? (although yesterday was the second friday of June?) The first friday of July is the 4th, so would we do it on the 11th instead? I feel lke my eyes have been opened to another world of photography - with finally seeing what great lighting will do to help photos. I can see how studio shooting is a whole other ball game.
