For the pros- anyone notice Google dropping your rank?

I've fallen entirely off Google lately, and I don't know what's up because a lot of the other child/family photogs who used to rank highly don't seem to be listed on the first few pages either.
I just launched my new site at www.windwardskies.com and switched from a splash page to the blog as my main page. Right about then I fell off Google entirely (from being around #3-#6 for most searches), and I've gone as deep as 10 pages without finding my site. Craigslist posts and out-of-state photogs (and link lists from blogs) are showing up higher!
I'm really concerned, as I get a lot of leads off Google, and not being listed on the first page will seriously affect my business.
Anyone else notice their Google rankings changing?

Maybe it doesn't recognize blogs as well as a regular website? I Googled Hawaii children photography and there were quite a few first in the list. But your's I couldn't find. :(

I'm assuming your blog has dynamic pages (php, asp...). Google sometimes has a hard time crawling dynamic pages. I bet if you put your html splash page back up you'll be picked up again.

Also you are using wordpress, dont forget to enable robot crawling by going to .../wp-admin/options-privacy.php . You could also add meta terms to aid google.

Thanks for the tips! I think I will switch back to the splash for a bit, just to see what happens. All the blog settings look fine, and I've got the meta tags.. it's just odd. I know of 3 other photogs who used to rank highly that have fallen off page 1, so I was curious.
