About Vanessa

Welcome to VANESSA.

VANESSA doesn't care about quality although she likes your photo's to be a little out of the ordinary. She prefers the fake to the real and the twisted to the balanced, but she wants you to fill in the blanks. So go ahead and fill up VANESSA with your take on the above.

Vanessa doesn't use the word herself but many people might call her favourite photo's kitsch, she much prefers trashy. She's not into chandeliers and disco but she likes your apartment when it's messy. Vanessa doesn't watch porn but she finds it's tackyness appealing, she likes cheap flashes of inspiration that don't have to be masterpieces, those little ideas that don't always work out.

She's not brilliant at explaining herself but that's because she's an aspiring artist that doesn't feel she has to.

You can only put one photo per week in VANESSA, she knows that's not many but she likes to keep her trash of high quality. This means you can all curate your own slow evolving Vanessa exhibition without overshadowing Vanessa who has yet to show her face.

VANESSA wants to show you her favourite shots as of 30 June '06. They're the kind of thing she wants to hang on her wall in unsuitable picture frames. She might even ask for a print from your old inkjet printer.
