I have to admit, my body was none too happy about waking up so early but in the end it was treated to a smorgasbord of wonderful sights!
My wife, Renee (reneemarie11) and I carpooled with anntorrence and Dr Claw's keeper. Upon arriving we separated to check out the various balloons, every so often we bumped into each other and into other PUers.
Yes, PU. There, I said it. :)
We're sorry we didn't stay for breakfast, how was it?
Thanks, Jeremy for organsing yet another fantastic Photowalking Utah event!

Rich got into a balloon envelope, Zelph's son got into a balloon basket; no gear destroyed; most folks met up at the end, so the social rendez-vous idea worked; we collared two new members on the field (hi Scott and Emily); great subject matter. The only thing we needed were earplugs for the "great music." Couldn't even complain much about the clouds since it kept it cooler.
Carpooling rocks. So do we PWer's (@Calanon, never PUers).

Arrived late ... missed seeing the balloons being filled ... again! (It's hard to get the entire family up early on a holiday and drive from Salt Lake to Provo in time for the launch!)
Stayed with the family, so I didn't move around much ... For that reason, I can't say that my images are really all that creative ('cept maybe for the fisheye images).
Didn't see any PWers there ... perhaps because I didn't move around. And besides, everybody looked like a geek-with-camera today!
Left early because my boy was in the West Jordan parade and we wanted to go out to breakfast as a family before the parade. Never ... NEVER ... try to eat breakfast at iHop in Orem on the Fourth of July. Ohmygosh that place was crowded. We gave up and drove all the way to West Jordan. It was busy, but had empty tables when we arrived. But even it was packed by the time we left.
The parade was fun ... still working on those pictures.

HI!
Didn't see any of you there because we rolled in a few minutes late and missed most of the balloon excitement. We still had a fun time and ended up staying for the parade (which we NEVER would have done otherwise because we are parade-traffic-phobic!) and had a blast.
Took a few photos of the balloons from our vantage point. Hopefully, we will see you all at the next one.

Perhaps of some interest are images from various parades that people attended today? I know they aren't directly related to Photowalking, so I didn't add them to the group pool. But here's a link to some of my parade shots:

Anyone else have parade images to share?

It was fun to meetup. Sometimes I feel like a ghost member here since I moved out of Utah. It was nice to meet some of the members I've been haunting. ...and breakfast was awesome...that was some goood french toast. Like David said, I don't think my shots were all that creative, but sometimes, it's more about enjoying yourself, right?

Hey Scott... I had fun looking through and reading the parade commentary in your blog. I did something similar on my own parade images:

I also snuck over to your website for a peek at your wedding photos. Nice work! :-)

Thanks for heading up a recap thread. With the holidays I've had some much needed away time from the computer :) I enjoyed the outing as always, and especially enjoyed the yummy breakfast with some photo friends. Great meeting some new people as well.
I've got a few from the outing uploaded and hope to add a few more later.
