Quality Control
 |
I think the idea for this group is great but lately some pretty un-pretty pictures of un-ugly things have been appearing en masse. Far be it for me to judge what is both pretty and ugly, but I've seen too many excellent Flickr groups go totally down the drain due to the overzealousness of users who love to post everything they have regardless of the rules or quality control. It's not my group but I thought I'd be the bad guy and bring this up, anyway. Comments?

100 % totally agree with endustry! The best groups are a joy to visit due to the visual statement and unpolluted dedication to rules. Groups where the administrators act as ruthles, nitpicking tyrants are so much more fun than places where anything goes. The purpose of good groups is to display a specific idea or sense of astetics and it should be a privilige to have your images included. Pretty Pictures of Uggly Things could use some weeding out, its a beatiful, interresting and special group and should stay that way.

Pictures of clowns, fashion victims, steps with shadows across them, mundane office buildings? Can we get some admin support in here?

Hey, I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with the weeding. I've had a terrible cold for the last few days and before that I was busy working on two jobs which are due next week. I promise to start weeding!

Hi! I've just joined the group and I feel as though the 1st comment in this discussion is still valid. I looked through the photos before joining, myself, but I didn't feel that they had a strong common thread. I joined anyway, and am now unsure about my own photos. What do you think?

I've been going through every couple of days and deleting the dross. Sometimes, though, a crap picture will elude me! I apologize.

I'm not sure either, I hope my photos are good, I feel they are decent, of unattractive things, wall and doors falling apart, and I did read rusted old cars/trucks were acceptable so I added those. I figure I could at least try - I'll see if I get what ya'll mean or not and go from there.

Go to the picture you want to add to the group and click "send to group" (which appears above the photo). Then select the group from the list.
