It might be that there are more convenient solutions, but I hold my breath ...

I do not believe the bubbles are really an issue with seeing the viewfinder. They will make the fish skittish though. Best thing would be to approach the subject slow and easy to let it get comfortable with your presence. No sudden movement and believe it or not avoid eye contact......
You should as always try to remain calm and breathe slow and even with a little timing and allot of shots you with end up with a few photos.....

I agree, with one exception (on my own comment): If your topic is a fellow diver, you should make agreements (signs) on when to breath and when not. Bubbles on pictures especially on front of their face is not good.

Hi Yuki,
I have a couple of suggestions. First look for a reg with a wide exhaust, this will help get bubbles away from your mask. Another option is a dual hose reg like the Aqua Lung Mistral, which moves the exhaust to behind your head. A third option, which is the best, but also expensive and high maintenance is a rebreather, which eliminates the bubbles if it's closed circuit, or minimizes it if open circuit.

you can always buy a longer exhaust, but i do the same as Stefan Thys it works fine for me. if you worried about the reg getting in the way apex make some nice smallish regs and mine never gets in my way (its the atx100) or if you hold your breath you could always spit you reg out when your talking the photo :)

OK.. this is always a problem... I have dived on at least 20 different sets of regs... ( I ran 3 dive OPerations in Indonesia and East Timor)
The only ones that didnt get in the way of my Housing were the Oceanic Zeta.... small compact and very light..
