How about original pubs away from the town centre?
When I lived in Southport in the 1950s and 1960s they were very rare.
In fact Southport used to boast that it had more churches than pubs!

That's a good starting point, Philip, I know there's the smallest pub in Britain by the Marine Lake...

When I'm in Southport I love sneaking round the fairground early morning and taking photos of how bad it is now. Otherwise the miniature railway is another good one.

try Churchtown Botanic Gardens, there's lots of vivid coloured plants and old bridges and walkways....worth a look, i used it for my Photography AS Level Test!
