Blimey. No comments for 2 weeks. How rude!
My favourite character is probably Han in Star Wars. Way too cocky and self assured, having a laugh, hanging around in bars, knows lotsa useful people and he doesn't whine like Luke. Best by far. :)

Wow...wish I saw this sooner.
For the movies, Han Solo is my favorite, hands-down.
There's nothing like a Corellian with a good blaster at YOUR side. :)

Han was my favorite until a certain senile guy called George decided that he wasn't supposed to shoot first...
Now Greedo's my favorite :)
And Max Rebo's second, of course.

Roadrunner?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be Han--he got all the laughs, he got the girl, he knew when to shoot first, and he knew when to run when he was outnumbered. Plus, when Chewbacca's got your back, you're in good shape.

For the original three, Han... hands down. Shot Greedo first, never was sure if he'd stay or go, but you always rooted for him.
In the second (though numerically first three)... I guess I'd choose Obi Wan... Ewan is a fine actor, and I thoroughly enjoyed his witticisms throughout the trilogy.

Thanks people for posting your opinions.......Han was a great character, but since I'm young I'm really into the newer movies. I love the originals though. Nothing can compare to those. George is a genius when it comes to film making. ^_^

Classic trilogy: Obi-Wan. Alec Guinness gave him a warmth and wry humor that were very appealing. The wry attitude also helped to sell the fantasy world of 'A New Hope.' Too bad he was reduced to a blue blob in the other two films.
New trilogy: Yoda. Frank Oz' voice characterization rules. And the CGI guys did justice to Yoda's expressions.

Yes, Han totally shot first! :) I'm "old" enough that I was alive for all three original movies and got to see Return of the Jedi on the big screen.
The newer movies haven't appealed to me as much. Maul had promise as a villain, but was incredibly undeveloped.
I like OT Darth Vader, but can't stand Anakin. He whines more than his son. :)

I totally agree with you about Anakin whining too much. Even though the actor was hot they could've chose a better one to play Anakin's role.

Has to do with Ewan's accent, maybe.
And he's so ... noble.... or something!

oh yeah...its all about Chewie. He's been my favorite since i was like 7. Fortunately or not i am old enough to have seen all 6 movies in the theater (even though i was 7 for A New Hope) but anyway....Obi Wan would have to be my second favorite.

My favs are probably Anakin as a sith, he's so powerful. R2-D2 is a classic. Boba Fett/Jango Fett are also pretty awesome. Obi-Wan in the 3rd movie (Revenge of the Sith) and Yoda in Revenge of the Sith.

Hello!
I’m new in this group. I love Star Wars and (I’m from Portugal) I don’t have many people to talk about the films. I’m glad I found you.
My favorite is Han and Vader in the firsts and OB1 in the recent ones. The army of the clones is pretty cool too.

If you think the new SW movies were gold, chances are you need your head examined.
Sure they were all techie. Sure they added new and wonderful crap to R2 that the movies that are technically newer didn't feature [thanks George Lucas...way to go!] But ill-planned gadgets thrown into a film that was meant to be so much greater dosen't count for peanuts!
Who was the greatest character in my opinion? Moff Tarkin; b/c he was the only one who could control Vader.
Oh, and my rebuttle for George's fine film-making skills; please remember two things:
1) His skills at writing dialogue
2) His choice of actors in the more recent films [think young Annakin Skywalker + Hayden Christensen] .....and PLEASE no comments such as "..but he was soo HAWT!"
I rest my argument! :)
I [heart] the originals!

Ewan McGregor as Obi in Episode 3 is my favourite, he played it just right I reckon.

And I agree, Anakin was a whiner!!

Yoda Yoda Yoda.
It's funny (or geeky, or sad), but I've had this conversation with people many times. My favorite Star Wars charachters have changed over time as I have. When the movie came out in 1977, I was 8 years old. I WAS Luke Skywalker (ideolistic, good vs. evil, etc.). Then in my teenage years I became more rebellious, and associated more closely with Han Solo (I didn't need your hokey religion). I joined the military and began associating with the Empire, and this was my Vader period. I got out, and I had a brief Darth Maul fling, but I think he was just a fad and if he was such a badass he should have lived a bit longer. In my 30s, *late 30s now) I began to feel wise and Yoda-ish. I love Muppet Yoda and I love the fighting skills of animated yoda. I AM Yoda, hmmm? Yoda I am.

Canon films would be Boba Fett
Episodes I - III would be Darth Maul (I guess they had to kill him off quick since he could never be better than Vader
Expanded Universe- Jacen Solo (way more of a bad ass than Vader or Maul but everyone seems to think he is good while he "interrogates" Fett's daughter to a force induced death.)
Sexiest- Slave Leia (Carrie Fisher rocked that metal bikini) of course we really need to see Natalie Portman try one of those on.
Troopers: Biker Scouts rock! the coolest armor for the movies, I just wish they had incorporated the Clone Commandos into the move in Delta's black Katarn armor

Darth Maul~they could have done so much more with his character. Obiwan through all!
Ani (Hayden) sucked! What a fag!
The Moff is probably the best for the originals. Vader did back down to him and he was the cockiest son of a bitch around! More than Han. I think they could have done a great story of the relationship between his command and Vader's place.
