Time and again, when you happen to search for India, on flickr, you come across pictures showing India as poor, with homeless street children, bad roads, broken homes, unkept historical architecture, and all similar things. But are we just that !?

Recently we had a contest on street children, and most of the entries we had were of these homeless kids, who have retorted to beggin on the streets. Why is it that we couldnt see school going kids on the streets? Though, these pictures are definitly a reminder of the fortunate life we have. But is that how India is still percieved as, around the globe??

Hence, we came upon this idea of showing the world, that India is not just a land of snake charmers (a very popular expression, used for India), its not a country where time has stopped (another expression from my European friends), its not only about poverty and communal violence, and definitely not only about call centers :)

Please help me in this, and add your best pics about India. Show us, and everybody around, whats the new FACE OF INDIA..

There is no specific genre which we are all interested in potraying. It can be Indian Wildlife, Business Life, Education, People, Cars and Bikes in India, the skyscrapers, the parks, the IT hubs, the adventure trails/treks/ Mountaineering, the Infrastructure, Advertising (we rock at this), Architecture, ........ et al.

Also, please invite your friends to the group, especially those who are not from India, and lets show the world - what we are now, and what we will be soon :)
