About Bad Number Plates

This group is dedicated to those people who love to shuffle around the numbers and letters, perhaps add a bolt here or there, perhaps change the font... whatever... VIZ Profanisaurus christened them Twatplates and it seems to have stuck!

Here is your change to show how bad some of these number plates really are (US number plates are also acceptable, but you don't generally get them in the same way due to US registration laws).

When uploading your photos, it is nice (but not mandatory) that you can twatpoint each photo with a number of points based on the following scoring system, based on the one found at www.stopillegalnumberplates.co.uk/ :

1 Twatpoint for each incident of:
Space Removed, Space Added, Wrong badge/Logo (not EU style badge)

2 Twatpoints for each incident of:
Wrong font, Misuse of a screw (wrong place/colour), Number plate wrong shape/size

3 Twatpoints for each incident of:
Modification of a character (Squashing, Removing Bits), Wrong colour (black plates), Badly mounted (wrong angle/self adhesive), Having a naff message underneath explaining WHY, Being on a 4 x 4, Being badly parked

6 Twatpoints for:
Being on a HUMMER

The points are cumulative so say, for 2 characters modified the plate would get 6 points total.


UK Twatplaters should bear in mind the following...

"It is an offence to alter, rearrange or misrepresent letters or numbers in order to form names or words or in such a way that makes it difficult to read the registration number. Characters must not be moved from one block to the other e.g. AB51 DVL must not be displayed as AB5 1DVL or AB 51DVL. Vehicles with illegally displayed number plates may FAIL the MoT test. The police can also issue fixed penalty fines for illegally displayed number plates. Offenders are liable to a MAXIMUM FINE of 1,000 and in some cases the mark may be withdrawn."
