I live in Canada, but my mom grew up in Coventry and moved here in 1961... She passed away about ten years ago but left behind a fantastic collection of pictures (scenic and family) she took in the period 1947 to 1960. I've posted some of them here before, I just uploaded some more recently - will add them to the group photo pool...

I don't know how long this group has been going, but I want to say, a million times. Thank you. It's a pleasure to find a group dealing with my own country. Nine times out of ten, if you view a picture on flickr. It originates in America. Please don't get me wrong. I have made some very good friends on flickr from the States.
I originate from a little town called Widnes. some say it is the only place in the world, where you can throw your windows open in the morning, and here the birds cough! LOL.
you may have guessed by now it is an industrial chemical town. I now live just across the River Mersey in the neighbouring town of Runcorn. (Watch out, here comes another quote) some say "Runcorn, is the only place in the world where people take their wallpaper with them when they move" I think that is a reference to the fact that Runcorn is supposed to be a posh town.
My God, this was supposed to be a comment. It's turning rapidly into a novel. So to the point. my real name is James worth, and I want to say thank you to the administrator for allowing me to join this group.
I would like to contribute this image of the bridge joining the two towns of Runcorn and witness.
