I said I was going to stashbust this month but I totally forgot one of my nieces is having a baby soon and I need to get yarn for a baby blanket. I don't have anything in the stash that will do. Drats!
I will do my best to only get yarn for the blanket.

I'm definitely in for February. I had a big tidy the other day (it's still not perfect) but most of my stash is now in the one place. I've got a chest full of stuff, a couple of boxes and a couple of huge carrier bags - plus the stuff I've put aside for reusing/recycling. I'm pleased that I'll be 'forced' to use some stuff that's just been sat there waiting for inspiration to strike!

Put me down for February...I don't think I actually completed anything in January...but I only slipped up once on the buying end :) I did get rid of a ton of stashed checkbook boxes though. I had a Girl Scout camping weekend (19-6th and 7th graders) and we used the boxes (plus old jars, M&M containers and magnets) to make decoupaged gifts. I got rid of the boxes, jars, containers and pages from the magazines! Too bad most of the magazines came home with me...although they are a little thinner!

I'm just partly in for February. There's two larger projects I want to start and I have to buy yarn for those. I will do my best not to buy anything else, though, and to give back the yarn I have not used for the afghan I'm about to finish (might be just one skein, but nevertheless...).

I'm new, but I'm so broke I really think this would be fun and help keep me on track!

I was sent today to buy some cream coloured card stock for my friend (it was my own fault, I offered as I was going into town anyway) and, oh, the temptation! It was such a beautiful little paper crafts shop. But...I resisted. I'm so proud. I think I might have to declare February 29th a non-existant calandar day so that I can go back and but it all.....cue manic laugh.

I'm in :) Hopefully I'll be able to reduce my stash enough this month to get it all to fit in my cabinet . I took pictures of it to motivate myself =P

So, four in, two somewhat in. Happy crafting!
I did my yarn purchases today, and I'll try not to buy any more for the rest of the month (or at least until I've finished all other projects).

This is going to be hard. I went to Walmart today and didn't even go to the craft section. Unfortunately, all the Walmarts around here are practically doing away with the yarn section. This is the last "old" Walmart around that still has a good selection of yarns. There was a big sign on the door that they're closing to move to the new superstore the end of the month. I just know they'll be like all the other new stores and have about a 3 foot section of yarns. I was so tempted to buy a bunch of homespun before its gone for good.......but I didn't. Boo Hoo!!

Thanks for the invite, lazyT!
You know this is what i need, from listening to me describe the wall to wall(s) stash explosion at my house.
My mom called me from Joann today to tell me what's on sale... does it count if SHE buys the yarn?
lol

Yes, it does count if she buys the yarn - at least if you consent to it first. Just unasked for gifts are okay (not even indirectly asked for). And, since it is your mother, you can tell her about your month of yarn dieting. :-)

I think everyone's finding it really hard this month because the dismal February weather makes us feel as though we need bright and beautiful things to cheer us up. I've been BookMooching instead (look it up, it's fab) and have mooched loads of craft magazines to get ideas for using up all my stuff. (Books aren't craft supplies as such, but you get to drool over all the lovely photos!)

I'm using all my willpower to pick up nothing new. I've been pretty good for a long time, but am being drawn to the 2nd hand shop that I'll be driving by later today... does 2nd-hand count????

I'm in for February, and hopefully all of Lent (supply buying is what I gave up...)

The idea simply is use what you have. So don't go buying new or new to you (2nd hand stores) supplies.
I really think books count too and magazines. The goal really is use what you have. I know my book shelves are bulging with ideas and my computer and notebooks have many free patterns to use.

I'm in, again!! I stopped working 2 weeks ago and really need to not buy anything new! I did buy beads last month! I just remembered that one! Gosh! But other wise that I did very well! I have more fun trying to use what I have on hand then going out and buying new stuff! I have so much fabric and yarn and craft stuff I think I could open a craft store!!
