Can't figure out how to make hierachical set

I actually read through the forum and see that this feature is not yet been implemented.

However, to create a set inside another set is the basis of data organization. It is a much needed feature and makes this site all but useless to me.

You can use tags for this. If you had a set holiday with 500 photographs in it, you could tag them with trip names. Like whitby2006 or canada1979 etc. Then viewing a photograph you can hit the tag and view all in your stream that match the tag.

I would also like this feature. Folder within a folder is very basic feature and something that would push a lot of people I know into Pro status with Flickr. I love Flickr, but I can't use it to it's full potential without hiearchial organization.

Yes but you don't need help on this. You need to look in the FlickrIdeas forum where there are 100s of like minded people asking for subsets.

Apply a bit of lateral thinking and work around it:

I'm exploring using tags.

One issue would be image Importing

* I have 4 years of photos to upload (6 gigs) . All brocken into herachical directories
year -> month -> topic -> [subtopic ->] pictures

I have hundreds of these directories that all need to be uploaded

Obvioudly I would like to have sets and sub-sets created. However in the mean time it would be helpful if it could take the last directory and make it a set. Then use all the parent directories as tags for that set.

Example
2003 -> October -> Halloween -> Kid's Costumes -> images.jpg

make a set of 'Kid's Costumes' and add the tags: 2003, October, Halloween

Head on over to the Ideas forum, where the need for sets of sets is a very hot topic.
