I don’t like talking about myself, but at the same time I don’t want to leave this blank.
I love photography and digital imagery. I wish I had more time to do it outside of the normal work hours.
The things I post here are a weird mix of my personal life and my creative endeavors. I come here to meet similar minded creative people and to be generally inspired by the images and atmosphere.
It’s easy to get carried away by the popularity driven aspects of Flickr (Views, Comments, Favorites, and the enigmatic “interestingness”)... Sure, it’s nice to get the recognition, but it’s also not the end of the world to not get it. If I like a picture that no one else likes, it doesn’t really matter. I still like it.
While I understand the trepidation of adding video to Flickr, but I actually like it because I think it can be a logical creative extension. It's not like Flickr was exclusive to photography before. And you also have to realize that you can use an SLR to make time lapse video. Spending longer periods of time, taking hundreds of images across changing lighting situations, and processing each and every one speaks to an increased level of difficulty over taking a single image. But hey - tt's not like it's a big deal either. But not recognizing its possible place in the Flickr landscape as I've seen recently seems unfair (bordering on snobbish and ignorant).
I hope all is well with everyone...
