my photography is a reflection of my surroundings and upbringing. my formative years were spent in the parking lots, shopping malls, video arcades and fast food restaurants of 1970s and 1980s suburban america. my artistic influences come largely from pop culture, television and advertising. i am drawn to flashy color, graphic art, shiny objects and metallic textures. like the popular culture that i draw inspiration from, my work focuses more on style than substance.
