I started photography in 80's with 35mm film SLR's, Nikon F-301 to be precise. However, after some years I seriously got bored with the nuisance of handling 1000's of slides which I had taken and eventually quit taking pictures for a long time.

Later digital cameras started to evolve and finally 2002 I asked Santa to bring me Nikon 5700 for Christmas present. And he did deliver! With 5700 I started to take more and more pictures, upgraded to Nikon D70 during 2003 and very late in March 2005 I finally got my D200 that I eventually in February 2008 upgraded to D300.

Today I'm shooting with:
- Nikon D300 body
- 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX Nikkor
- 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Nikkor
- 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro Nikkor
- 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G VR NIkkor
- TC-17E II Nikkor
- Nikon SB-800 flash
- Tamrac CyberPack 9 photo backpack
- Tamrac Pro 12 bag
- Manfrotto 055PROB tripod
- Manfrotto 488RC2 ball head

I try to take pictures when I travel due to my work, at home, at our backyard and other various places where my life takes me. Most of them are simple family shots but there is plenty of other subjects which I find interesting to photograph as you can see also from these pages.

I hope you will enjoy viewing my pictures here on flickr - feel free to comment if you like. In case you wish to use them according to the creative commons license terms please always remember to attribute pictures as "Picture by Jarkko Sakki".
