well, an update 5/25/07...
-----
i'm *still* supposed tb dying of colon cancer, but after a series of scans showing no growth, the last one came up entirely clear, eg, nothing visible to the naked eye. such vicissitudinousness confuses my ass, you can say that again.
if you're a secular humanist as i, you don't believe in the power of prayer, right? i mean, it's not like god makes decisions according to the prayer traffic, he's not letting little bald-headed children die of leukemia and sparing me cause i've got a bigger prayer flow, goodness, i sure hope not.
but still, information travels in odd ways, we all at least know someone with an inexplicable tale to tell. me, i've had perhaps one extrasensory premonition in my life, i've tended to vaguely imagine that there was some sort of wave skip, an extremely unlikely stochastic resonance, a sun spot, perhaps, a three bumper combo off ozone ether and plain old water, so much water so close to home there is after all. couldn't there have been something in the air?
so i'm second-guessing prayer just a little less. blessedly, however, i haven't taken to reflexively assuring strangers that they're in my prayers: because they're not. compassion is a virtue, but i don't have the time.
ps... i've graduated to a canon xr4ti revel, whatever. i'm ashamed of myself when i see stuff people are taking with the same damn camera, but heck, i bet they can't do a 4:06 mile in their dreams, now can they?
I'm Male and Taken.

the science of a close shave and how it never ceases to improve,
more food,

i don't know if i'm ready for more sex quite yet,
small furry animals,
cobwebs in the rafters,
cleaning products,
press conferences,
how good some cars look with classy models driving them at night,
the lawn,
how sometimes it's muddy,

i haven't read decent fiction in ages: nonfiction is just so damn unreal,
i'm worried what might happen if garcia marquez suddenly started to hang around bedside.i read david foster wallace's _infinite jest_,
the whole thing,
no lie. that's got to count for something. he's an interesting and smart guy,
but then again,
so is the unabomber.

foreign films in wh they take off their clothes so effortlessly.really,
i'll watch anything if it's cruelty-free. but what's with no happy endings no more? like i was watching "babel",
which i rented because i thought it was "babe,
" and the friggin dvd player turns the subtitles off,
which,
believe me,
doctor doolittle wouldvbn clueless trying to figure out what was going on,
and i'm watching the whole damn thing because i want to get to the happy ending,
and,
christ,
this is what i hate. and the filth. "knocked up",
it's a movie,
i know that's an expression kids use today,
like "hocked up" wh is how you are after a "hock up." made me want to vomit,

Testimonials
Signing Girl says:
"Orionoir,
You have some of the biggest words I have ever seen in my life. Ever since being on Flickr my vocab has increased 10-4. And the sheer genius of some of the captions such as 'Helpful Yahoo'. Wow!
Well I can't say anything that McBeth or Bakerina haven't already said so I'll end it here. Yet one could go on and on and on and on...."
McBeth says:
"Considering the voluntary nature of raising my hands toward the heavens and giving my testimonial (gimme a 'hallelujah', brother), there's an awful lot of pressure to do this thing right the first time.
His photos are good, don't get me wrong, but I keep returning to buy his wares for the wonderful dough punching commentary that comes with each piece - no charge!
There are so few people in the universe who I'd want to claim as my people enough to lick their foreheads in a stake-claiming gesture, but 'tis true, O is one of the few & the proud who'd get it and get it good."
Bakerina says:
"Let me count the similes: sharp like a tack, cute like a muffin, sweet like a milkshake, a mind like a diamond, an eye like a gimlet, the soul of an ancient, the heart of a pilgrim, the willingness to wait for just the right moment like the best storyteller you've ever known; all of these things are orionoir, and yet he is so much more than all of these things."
