I'm a software engineer by trade, although my background is in astrophysics (hence interest no.1 below).

I've been taking photos since about the age of 7 gradually improving my collection of kit as the years rolled by.
My first SLR was a Canon FX handed down from my mum. Using that taught me a lot about exposure, depth of field and composition.

Then I got my trusty Canon A-1 which I used together with a couple of twenty year old tins of Tri-X and Pan-F to learn the wet arts of developing and printing. I took it all over the world on my observing trips and it never let me down.

Now I have a not so shiny anymore EOS 20D and some spangly lenses for it so I can go nuts.

The 20D is great for experimenting and so on, and is my workhorse camera, but all this flickring has inspired me to get back to shooting film as well. So much so I even got myself a medium format camera - a Soviet built Zenith 80.
