Hi Lovely Flickr Friends
Slow down and look at the light on things. Check out the colour of light, how it changes constantly and effects the everyday things we come across.
You can always learn photographic techniques and take standard pics (lol thats a pun because it isn't easy) but add to that a yearning to break the rules and catch things how you imagine them to be. Thats me..
It set a shutter path for me when my Dad gave me a German Braun Paxette 35mm and a tripod when I was 9yrs old. I've been passionate about photography ever since.
Since my teens I've been with Olympus. I use my OM1 for film and regularly use my E300 with an OM:4/3rds adapter, so I can use my OM manual lenses.
Now pushing 50.. I use a Nikon D200 with a 18-200mm VR lens for GP a lens that won't be changed in that camera.
Available for profile, motivational and event photos (see website) Have had some photos published and sell through a local cafe gallery.
I recommend membership of a camera club or photographic society..it help you give and get back..sharing knowledge, ideas and talent. My wife and I are members of Matamata Camera Club and NZ Photographic Society.
Country life in the tiny rural town of Tirau, New Zealand with my wife (User name "essjay nz") is great.. the trout fishing and scenery are to die for. We are 40 mins from five towns and hope to post a variety of pictures from our travels around the area.
Flickr makes the world a little smaller. I love to catch up with folk from all around the world, be inspired and share with ppl.. I generally don't join critique groups, scoring groups or the prolifera of award and self advertising groups. I love the flickr fox side bar and jump in to fav and comment on pics I like.. I think that is what Flickr is all about.
Kind Regards
Dan
