That is so blatant it hurts.

Derek, can you use a rewrite or .htaccess
rule to deny any access to the above nasty
little hobbit?
It should instantly break their layout.
Either that - or server up 1000pxx1000px
lightweight image, centred on the page asking
the owner to stop f*cking stealing.
Eaither, or. ;)

Too bad we can't traffic bomb him, since he's
linking to Derek's server for images.

How do you block background-images in the
stylesheet? (Redirecting them to something
else)?

You should be able to control accesses to
content via a rewrite rule in .htaccess:
order allow,deny
deny from ip.add.here
If you 'deny' the IP address then content
cannot be retreived. do a lookup on the perp
and ban his ass. ;)

hosted on the sites server.

Derek, you could also use babelfish as your translator. But based on the blog,
it looks like this guy can understand
English.
I like Brendan's idea where you could put a
nice image stating those images were stolen.

Actually, here's a better option:
RewriteCond %{remote_addr} 12\.345\.67\.89
[OR]
RewriteCond %{remote_addr} 98\.76\.54\.3
[OR]
RewriteCond %{remote_addr} 67\.89\.0\.
rewriterule !^MESSAGE\.html$ /MESSAGE.html
[NC,L]
You could redirect folks to your blog,
instead of the perps - again, replace the ip
address(es) with the perps
.. google is your friend. ;)

That's really really sad. You should so use
brendan.'s suggestion. :)

Would Brendan's idea be worthwhile? It looks
like most of the files are being migrated on
to the users server.

It would force the issue, in that their
server would be unable to access yours.

I don't see why he's doing this -- everything
links to you. Even the little text at the top
is about you -- with your picture!!

.. and yet I still come back to the
"massive" 2000 x 1500 px edifice
image suggesting that stealing is bad,
triggered when the perp's IP accesses your
content. It's hard to read something if it's
covered with a bloody great big red "i'm
stolen content!" sign ;)

Could you issue a DMCA takedown to his ISP?
Just a question, don't know how that stuff
works, legally speaking.

No offense Derek, but you shouldn't take
people like this seriously. I mean, it's
painfully obvious the site's a rip, even to
the point of linking to your RSS feed and web
2.0 services, having your site's name in the
header, etc. I say ignore the guy and don't
bother with him.

Uh, how can it be called a mistake?
Did he accidentally steal the theme or
something? And accidentally forgot to change
the details?

I am a Chinese WP user. Let me explain
something here.
The truth is a Chinese web desinger
"copy" this theme as a foreign WP
user's asking, and later published it, with
the plugins, free, on the most popular
Chinese WP forum.
www.wordpress.org.cn
Many WP beginners(yes, beginners and
teenagers), download it and install it as
his/her first WP theme for its great design.
5thiryone's design was very famous on the
forum for the old themes, but now, it is much
more famous than before for this theme.
You can find the post below:

What? So Chinese WP users copy and
"rework" to redistribute on a WP
Forum in China? How is that even OK? No
permission was sought. What I made wasn't a
theme - translated that means no permission
to reuse or redistribute.
Maybe if everyone was a little more patient
this theme would have seen the light of day
as a public release.
